In June 2009, Hyundai Solar was the first Korean company to acquire UL certificate of the United States, enabling the company to enter markets in North America. Hyundai Solar became the one and only Korean solar company to acquire all three international certificates, UL, CE, and IEC, as well as domestic certificates for renewable energy companies provided by the Korea Energy Management Corporation. In October 2009, the company also became the first Korean company to be registered under the CEC listings, a basis for provisions of subsidies in many state governments of the US, which accelerated expansions throughout the US market.
In November of 2009, Hyundai acquires JET to enter the Japanese market, a market traditionally known for strong entry barriers. In September of 2010, Hyundai acquired MCS certificate of England. These continuous activities show the efforts of Hyundai reaching out to customers worldwide.
